Take Me Home 03:36
she said I seemed real nice when she walked by and I sounded pretty good for a white guy and a couple of smokes and a couple of beers and then it's not like I really even have to try well I saw all her friends out there gettin' down and she said she should maybe take me downtown but I'm on 6th street standin' on concrete confused but I guess she likes what she has found she had a wild look in her eyes she said honey I'm gonna take you home I said hell yeah you can take me home I said hell yeah you can take me home so I packed up my amp got my guitar grabbed my money I made from behind the bar I got an ok deal on a bad set of wheels and the losers stay away from a cop car she said it sounds like my ride is a race car but I drive cool cuz I ain't a rock star and I don't like cops and they don't like me but I'm in a cop car so they let me be she had a wild look in her eyes she said honey I'm takin' you home well all I can really ask is treat me right and I guarantee I will stay the night I said hell yeah you can take me home I said hell yeah you can take me home

I will lift you up as high as I can I will give you everything everything I can using nothing but love

well how you been it's been a long time and I guess I know people been talkin but as far as I can find I haven't lost my mind but between me and you I'm just talkin' well it's good to see you're doing well and you look good and happier than most it's been a little rough and times sure got tough but their mistake was in thinking I was toast I feel like gettin' lost in the eyes of another and falling head over heels in love and having drinks and laughs and forgetting all this crap with some help from some friends from above and I will pray for you that you find that special someone to put up with all your crap indefinitely cuz it won't be me all I'm saying is I wish you well and think of the good times while you burn in hell And I've been thinking you may be right but the only way you'll see me is if I drop by for a light

Texas Heat 03:54
I've been sweatin' all outside and lord knows I have tried but I keep workin' and I long for the moment that that cool cool air is blowin' in my face but this air is like an oven and even a summer breeze is gone without a trace you win again there texas ain't no coolin' down this texas heat I can see the heat comin off the road like my food in a hot iron pan but the waters running low and the traffic is running slow workin' for the man and there ain't no shade for miles and I'm doin' just the best I can you win again there texas ain't no coolin' down this texas heat And I used to dream of moving way up north with all my kin and I long for the moment that that cool cool air blowin' in my face but this air is like an oven and even a summer breeze is gone without a trace you win again there texas ain't no coolin' down this texas heat

well I know everybody walks a different path and it seems mine zig zags all the time And I've been hungry and homeless and out there on the street trying to fix this mess I got myself in but I don't mind if you wanna hang with me cuz I tell you what it sure feels good to be free cuz I ain't workin for the man and it never was the plan cuz I'd rather play my songs the best I can well times they change and I met the one for me and I tell you what it sure feels good to be free and she knows my gritty ways and she's still gonna stay we're trying to fix this mess I got myself in and I don't mind if you wanna hang with me cuz I tell you what it sure feels good to be free cuz I ain't workin for the man and it never was the plan cuz I'd rather sing my songs the best I can and stand on my two feet

I know everybody knows the trouble I been gettin myself in but the ladies say I'm doing alright for the shape I'm in and they know I've been running around playing' hard stayin' out all night when they see me gettin' home totin' sunglasses in the morning light I see the people want a good time and a good time was had by all even if that good time means when I get home I might have to crawl and they know I've been running around playing' hard stayin' out all night when they see me gettin' home totin' sunglasses in the morning light gonna need my shades in the morning light
8.
I got a few things on my mind I got a problem with the way things been and the only reason I can find is all the trouble she got me in but I know things will be alright no matter what it is she say cuz when she stayed out all night I knew I'd be on my way now things are lookin up and I knew it wouldn't take too long all I had left was that old guitar but I got a brand new song I saw she called me the other day and her message said she was wrong but I knew in my heart she wasn't meant for me I'm just sorry it took so long

One Red Rose 05:04
I wonder if you heard that story about the cowboy who never stayed longer than a single night he'd rather ride the range and sleep under the stars than hangin' at saloons to drink and fight well I heard he had enough of everyone cuz he'd rather be ridin' under the sun seemed the ladies liked him but why do you suppose he would always leave one red rose Do you remember when that cowgirl headed north she moved to montana I heard they fell in love they lived in a cabin they could still ride the range and sometimes sleep outside to see the stars above I heard they had enough of everyone cuz they'd rather be ridin' under the sun they found the one just like them they're the one they chose and they would always leave two red roses they'd always leave together on the range they'd always leave together and they'd leave behind two red roses they found the one just like them they're the one they chose and they would always leave two red roses

about

hola compadres!
lo que necesitabas era un bluesrock conmovedor para volver a la tierra.

Songs from back in the day in downtown Austin, where a different live band could be heard at every other bar, Paul Sessums sold beers for $1 outside the Black Cat Lounge, we had a residency with Danny Crooks at Steamboat (and often Mercado Caribe), and you could get red beans and rice for $1.00 that would fill you up for before an evenings entertainment. I could just as easily be found next door at Paradise, getting my usual coffee, veggies and ranch dressing.. I was listening to a lot of Arc Angels, Black Crowes, ZZ and more and it shows here.. I miss those days, but if there's one thing I've learned, is you can't go back, only forward.
