I understand, I'm a fairly gritty character, a not-ready-for-prime-time-player from wayyyy back. R-rated, PG13 on my best days. My wife likes me anyway.

superficial
clearly for her safety

on the good fight

that it's alright
I don't have a clue
to what she might be going through

figure what to do

she almost lost out
I might look a little rough
well lady that's just tough
cuz I'm funny as hell

so we sat and talked a while
and I can make it up in style
I started to see her
for who she really is

I love her laugh
and how it's tempered
with the perfect amount
of self deprecation
and I lost track of time
when we emptied that bottle of wine
and no one was more surprised
when she put her hand on mine
